When God asked Solomon what He should give him, Solomon said, "Give me now wisdom and knowledge". He didn't ask for money, fame, or fortune. He just wanted to have the wisdom and knowledge to judge his people fairly.

Psalms 111:10  says that "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom."  Proverbs 1:7 says that 'The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge."

James 1: 5 and 6 says if we lack wisom, we can ask God for it, and He will give it to us. The only stipulation is that we ask in unwavering faith.
